We first crossed paths in the Colorado mountains through mutual friends, over a raucous game of Cards Against Humanity. Haley kept picking Mike’s cards, and he kept picking hers—bonding instantly over their equally twisted sense of humor.

A few weeks later, while Haley was visiting a bridesmaid in Wyoming, Mike reached out. From there, it was hours-long Facetimes, late-night phone calls, and discovering shared passions for cycling (both road and mountain), snowboarding, live music, and exploring the outdoors.

It actually took months before we officially began dating. Our first date was at the Colorado symphony, seeing Gregory Alan Isakov. Since then, we have traveled to Chicago, Boston, Lake Tahoe, Seattle, Los Angeles, and countless Colorado spots to see our favorite musicians.

In our ten years together, we've shared two homes, adopted one very loved Shorkie named Leo, and watched Mike’s sons grow from being shorter than Haley to towering over her. Together, we've blended into a modern family that loves cozy nights in with games and movies—still laughing at each other’s jokes just like that first night.
