Is the wedding outdoors?
Yes — our ceremony will take place outdoors in mid fall, weather permitting. The 8200 ft. altitude of Pine can bring all kinds of different weather so we recommend checking the forecast and preparing for the hot/cold/sun/rain/snow - or in other words, some "who knows, but welcome to Colorado" kind of weather!
If the conditions require it, we’ll move the ceremony indoors so everyone stays comfortable. The reception will be held indoors immediately following the ceremony.
How should we prepare for the altitude?
Our venue sits at about 8,200 feet above sea level, so you may feel the effects of the altitude—especially if you're visiting from lower elevations. Here are a few tips to help you feel your best:
1) Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate! Drink plenty of water before and during your trip to help your body adjust.
2) Take it easy at first. You might feel short of breath or lightheaded—this is normal. Give yourself time to acclimate.
3) Limit alcohol at first. Alcohol hits harder at higher altitudes, so pace yourself (especially the first night).
4) Wear sunscreen because UV exposure is much stronger at altitude—even on cloudy days.
5) Pack layers. Going into the fall months, mountain evenings can be quite chilly.
6) If you have any health conditions or concerns, consider checking in with your doctor before traveling. We can’t wait to celebrate with you—mountain air and all!
What are the transpotation options?
We'll provide a continuous shuttle bus from 3pm to 10pm going from the Fairfield Inn & Suites in Littleton to the venue, and back (see the Travel page for more details on the hotel). Ride shares & taxis should be available to go up to the venue, however there’s no reliable ride share service from Pine back to the Denver area. If you prefer a private ride, please arrange a taxi or private car in advance. There is also plenty of room for parking on site if you choose to drive.
What does cocktail attire mean?
Cocktail attire is semi-formal—elevated and polished, but not overly formal. Since our wedding takes place in the mountains, we recommend outfits that are both stylish and practical for the setting.
For women: A cocktail dress (knee-length or midi), dressy jumpsuit, or elegant separates are all great choices, and wedges, block heels, or dressy flats are ideal for some uneven terrain.
For men: A suit or blazer with dress pants and a collared shirt is perfect. Ties are encouraged but not required. Feel free to leave the tux at home. Dress shoes or clean loafers that can handle a natural setting are best.
Please avoid jeans, sneakers, or anything too casual—and there’s no need for gowns or tuxedos. We want you to feel comfortable and festive while celebrating in the fresh mountain air!
